Seniors Travel Insurance takes the worry out of travel
We have been making regular trips since we retired and have found many interesting places to visit and stay. We get some criticism from our family as we are not concerned about the conditions in some of the locations we have visited and prefer to get off the beaten track a bit and away from the usual tourist locations. It is very enjoyable to discover a bit of the world that not too many people know about. We take some risks, but not too many as you never know what can happen and what assistance you may need in these places.
We always take out a seniors travel insurance policy before we leave from MyCover travel insurance. We have had good experience with this company and find comfort in their comprehensive international policy as it provides the cover we need worldwide. They have emergency medical assistance provided by the insurer, Allianz, which is a reputable company with worldwide resources, should you need it. Also, we tend to take extended trips so we dont like to be limited in the length of cover we can take as some policies have short duration limits, but in our case we usually take a two to three month trip at a time, as anywhere we go is a fair way from Australia and it just makes sense to send as much time as we can on our holiday as we usually do not go back to exactly where we have been on previous trips.
We do budget carefully and discuss our travel plans with our family and friends and this helps with decisions on costs. We have in the past purchased travel insurance from the travel agent, bundled with the flights and other costs, but now we are a bit more adventurous we buy items separately online and this includes our seniors travel insurance. It has been to our advantage to make this purchase separately and we benefit from the reduced costs, which makes our trip go that little bit further. We do make sure though that we have adequate cover and always take out comprehensive international cover for our overseas trips.
